We’ve heard some audition horror stories before… but not horror stories! LOLz!
We probably knew at some point that Jessica Biel was one of the many stars who auditioned for The Notebook. That was a wild list of talented women trying to play Allie opposite Ryan Gosling‘s Noah, a role that eventually went to Rachel McAdams.
What we never knew was how much of a disadvantage Jessica was at! The future Mrs. Justin Timberlake had to do the entire audition covered in blood! Well, fake movie blood — but still, probably wasn’t the right vibe for the endearing love story! Even if it was a period film. Ha!

Jessica was on The View this week and seeing an image of herself covered in blood for her new show The Better Sister reminded her of the debacle! She explained:
“I was shooting the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I was super young… and then I auditioned for The Notebook, which was going to be the greatest option for me in my career, like what an amazing thing to get after that.”
Yeah, obviously that movie was a huge hit and completely iconic! We mean, the 2003 Texas Chainsaw remake was iconic in its own way, of course. But the two flavors weren’t exactly chocolate and peanut butter! When Ryan and director Nick Cassavetes came to her set to do a proper audition, it maybe didn’t go super well? Jessica recalled:
“We auditioned in my trailer at work, and I didn’t get it of course, we know this is the answer… but in my mind I just remember having blood on me and being in that white tank top, and took my cowboy hat off, and was like, ‘Okay, I’d love to fall in love with you, let’s do this.’”
Ha! OMG! We can just imagine the scene… And it’s HILARIOUS! He wrote her every day… meanwhile she was fighting off Leatherface! LOLz! Worst audition ever?? See Jessica tell the bloody tale (below)!
