Richard Goodall found fame when he won his season of America’s Got Talent. See what his life looks like now since taking home the coveted prize of AGT champion. So, what has he been doing since the big win, and the global recognition that comes with it?
America’s Got Talent: Richard Goodall Was The Big Winner On His Season
Richard Goodall was the big winner on his America’s Got Talent season. The one thing that separates AGT from other reality competitions like American Idol and The Voice is that, while singers do often win on the show, people of different talents beyond singing compete for the coveted prize.
The singing janitor from Indiana melted hearts with his story, as well as his vocal chops. This show continues to prove that no matter how old you are and no matter what walk of life you come from, you have as good a chance as anyone to take home the big prize as long as you show up and continue to perform well.
AGT Is The Singing Janitor Still A Janitor?
Anyone who has been a fan of America’s Got Talent knows that winning the whole thing is a game-changer, and something that has the potential to completely change someone’s life. However, based on the most recent updates from Richard Goodall, his day-to-day life does not seem to have changed too drastically since his big win.
The Season 19 winner recently said that while he is singing, he is also still a janitor. So, he clearly has not let the fame and the recognition get to his head. He is staying humble, which speaks to why so many people fell in love with him in the first place when he competed on the reality competition show.
America’s Got Talent: Richard Goodall Dishes On Life After Fame
The America’s Got Talent Season 19 winner recently dished on his life since taking home the big prize. Based on what he had to say, it has not changed all that much. Goodall said: “I’m doing singing things, but I’m still at the school. I’m still a janitor,” he told TODAY.
Goodall went on to add: “Not much has changed. I mean, I have a manager now, and at some point I’ll probably have to take a leave of absence for a while, and then assess and see if I would stay or start singing, but for the most part, other than singing out, I’m still the same person, same guy, not changed.”
While he is very much still the same guy that he was before winning the big competition, the added recognition and the $1M prize money certainly don’t hurt.
