Jelly Roll Admits He Was ‘Ashamed’ Of Weight
At his heaviest, Jelly Roll weighed almost 550 pounds. Through diligent exercise and changing his food habits, he’s lost nearly 300 pounds in a short amount of time. The singer previously shared that he avoided weight-loss drugs for fear they would hurt his voice. Acid reflux is a common side effect of the weight-loss drugs.
The popular singer recently achieved one of his goals for 2026. He was the cover model for the January 2026 edition of Men’s Health magazine. In a wide-ranging interview, he opened up about how he feels now about his former heavier self.
“It’s almost to the point where I look back now and I can’t believe that I was able to perform, that I was on national television, and that I was on stages and doing a hundred-something shows a year,” Jelly Roll said.
He continued, “It’s as disgusting as you imagine, when I really look back at it. I was struggling to wipe my a**. You know what I mean? Like, I’m ashamed of it.”
Jelly Roll compared his “full-blown food addiction” to drug and alcohol addiction. “Shame is the exact same thing that will send me right back into the pantry. It’s the same thing that sends an alcoholic right back to the bar.”

Jelly Roll has been married to Bunnie Xo since 2016. Their marriage hasn’t always been easy. He confessed earlier this year to infidelity earlier in their marriage.His weight didn’t help matters. He told Joe Rogan recently that his weight negatively affected his performance in bed.
But now he’s devoted to his wife and his wife only. “I feel like I’m a teenager, dog. I have the s*x drive of a 17-year-old again. I’m f***ing pouncing on my wife. We’re having daytime s*x again. It’s f***ing awesome,” the rapper-turned-country artist told Men’s Health.
“My testosterone level — and I’m cool to talk about this openly — was of a preteen boy,” Jelly Roll revealed about his testosterone levels before his massive weight loss. He shared another huge perk – the couple can now sleep in the same bed.

“I was so fat that there came a moment in life that my wife and I had to put two queen beds beside each other because we couldn’t fit in a king bed anymore, I was just all over,” he shared.
