Counting On alums, Jill and Derick Dillard lost their baby, Isla recently, and TLC fans noticed that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar attended the funeral. The bereaved couple’s been at odds with her parents for some time. Therefore, some people might have been surprised when they reunited over the tragic death of an infant.
Jill & Derick Dillard Were Pregnant With Their Fourth Child
When the news about baby Isla being stillborn arrived, TLC fans hadn’t known about the pregnancy. In the news that arrived on social media, it became apparent that the three other children, Israel, 9, Sam, 7, and going on two-year-old Freddy, looked forward to meeting their new sibling. So, that was a heartbreaker. Michelle Duggar helped Jill out after Freddy was born, but things still seemed strained between her and her dad.
Since Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar met Freddy, a lot of things changed for Jill and Derick Dillard. For a start, her book, Counting The Cost emerged, and she dished a lot of things that probably upset her father. Meanwhile, Derick hasn’t been silent on his feelings about his father-in-law. While Jill tries to foster a good relationship, it seems that when they get together, her dad is pretty much a polite stranger to her.

Jim Bob & Michelle Duggar Attended The Funeral Of Isla
When Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard prepared for Isla’s funeral, she shared a photo of the tiny casket, and some family members reacted in the comments. They included Jinger, Amy Duggar King, and James Duggar. But, her mom didn’t react. So, it seems special that both parents arrived at the funeral. Jill and Derick Dillard shared a joint Instagram post about the memorial and Counting On fans could see the family letting balloons rise in the air to honor their baby.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar became less popular when their oldest son, Josh was sent to prison. Plus, the Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets docuseries didn’t help. Then, with Jill Duggar’s book slamming her dad, it would be understandable if they stayed away from Isla’s memorial on April 19. However, the Counting On couple didn’t snub their daughter on the sad occasion. Any family can bring clashes and awkward relationships. Notably, people don’t have to be on reality TV to face difficult times together.
What are your thoughts about Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar attending the funeral of baby Isla? Does that make you hope that one day, Jill and Derick Dillard might make their peace with them?
