After leading viewers through one of the most breathtaking opening sequences in 21st century horror in Final Destination Bloodlines, Brec Bassinger returns for another round of cinematic scares in Buzzkill as Kendell, the relentless leader of a sorority targeted by a masked killer at their costume party, where the only hope of survival and discovering the killer’s true identity could lie within the increasingly drunk recollections of party-girl Nora (Siena Agudong).
An intoxicating concoction of Mean Girls and Happy Death Day, Buzzkill premieres September 25th on Tubi, and we caught up with Bassinger in a new video interview to discuss her latest intriguing role, including reading the clever script by Suzanne Keilly (2021’s Slumber Party Massacre) for the first time, working with the talented director Jem Garrard (Takeout), intertwining humor with horror, the films she watched to prepare for the role of Kendell, the killer costumes from Buzzkill that she hopes to see worn by fans this Halloween season, and how Jem meeting Brec’s mom led to a strong Southern accent being added to Kendell as a perfect fit for the character right before filming began!
