As someone who works from home and rarely leaves my apartment on weekdays, I basically live in elevated loungewear from Monday through Friday. Because of that, I’ve made a point to fill my wardrobe with a wide selection of tops and bottoms that are comfortable yet chic. One retailer I consistently rely on for said apparel staples is Old Navy. At least weekly, I check out the brand’s new arrivals. (I do so frequently because it’s no stranger to selling out of popular pieces in a matter of hours.) Recently, I scrolled by the Old Navy Light Support Dynamic Fleece Racerback Sports Bra ($27) and added it to my virtual shopping cart in the color Rare Earth and in my usual size, medium. Ahead, find out everything I love about the design, as well as what you should keep in mind before you add it to your loungewear collection.
What I Love About the Old Navy Fleece Shirred Sports Bra
What I love most about this sports bra is the shirred hem, which makes it look much more expensive than it actually is. After ordering it, I did a quick Google Search to see what similar options exist, and I couldn’t find anything quite like it, at least for under $50.
Another thing I adore is the material, which is different than it sounds. Unlike traditional fleece, this sports bra is made of dynamic fleece, which includes 69 percent cotton, 26 percent polyester, and 5 percent spandex. It’s smooth and soft to the touch, with just a bit of stretchiness.
What’s more, if you’re interested in making it a set, there are matching bottoms. See: the High-Waisted Roll-Down Snuggly Fleece Pajama Sweat Shorts ($20) and the Oversized Fleece Button-Down Cardigan Robe ($35). (I’ve been not-so-patiently waiting for them to go on sale because I need both.)
What’s Worth Noting About the Old Navy Fleece Shirred Sports Bra
At the time of writing, this sports bra has solely positive reviews and a nearly perfect five-star rating. It does everything it promises: it offers light support excellent for low-impact exercise, a chic design, and just the right amount of support to take you from lounging on the couch to a late afternoon walk.
This sports bra has light support, but multiple shoppers — myself included — find the material thick and supportive. One reviewer wrote, “Really cute. Decently supportive; I’d argue more than light.” Another said: “So comfortable and surprising support for us bigger chested women!”
Who Is the Old Navy Old Navy Fleece Shirred Sports Bra For?
The Old Navy Old Navy Fleece Shirred Sports Bra is best for those who want to level up their athleisure collection without shelling out nearly $100 for a single style. Its light support makes it ideal for homebodies, walkers, and yoga-lovers, and it’s perfect for any and all types of other low-impact exercise.
