We’re thrilled to exclusively reveal that the Les Mort 13 Giant Syze Special is headed to comic book shops this November, thanks to Syzygy Publishing and Image Comics! This one-shot contains all of Ashley Wood and T.P. Louise’s Les Mort 13 tales in an “extra-length format on gritty newsprint.”
From the Press Release: “Fan-favorite comic book creators Ashley Wood (X-Men, Judge Dredd) and T.P. Louise (Lore, World War Robot) are re-presenting their seaside scary stories in the Les Mort 13 Giant Syze Special, hitting shelves this November as part of Syzygy Publishing’s lineup of titles at Image Comics. This extra-length edition, printed on gritty newsprint, packs in a punch with a collection of eerie tales that are whispered about on the fictional Southport island, where travelers have gone mysteriously missing and there’s a rumor that a long-departed Goddess still holds power. Fans of The Lighthouse, Midnight Mass, and the Lore podcast will enjoy this comic book full of feverish island terror.
The events of the Les Mort 13 Giant Syze Special take place between the coasts of somewhere and nowhere, on an island where the visitors are many but the inhabitants are few. Return tickets are issued but the return journeys are rarely ever taken. Some suspect that this hunk of rock sits upon the giant skull of a forgotten God, once lost to the dark waters that encircle the island. To reside in this place is to be engaged in a silent game of chess with something that you’re not even sure is there. Strangely, people still covet passage to this windy little isle, known for its ancient ruins. They belong to an unnamed Goddess and the long-forgotten cult that once worshipped her there. Local legend says that, even though she is long departed, the influence of the Goddess still remains, even if only in the shadows. Welcome to Southport.”
“Les Mort is our tip of the hat to pulp horror and folk horror,” said co-creator Ashley Wood.
Les Mort 13 Giant Syze Special will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, November 6 (FOC of October 14), featuring a cover by Ashley Wood (Lunar Code 0824IM322). Les Mort 13 Giant Syze Special will also be available across many digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play.
