The new Nicolas Cage A24 movie, Dream Scenario, is getting positive early reactions.
The upcoming comedy stars Cage as a schlubby professor who never made it becoming an overnight celebrity after appearing in everyone’s dream. The film is written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli, who directed the 2022 Cannes film Sick of Myself. It is produced by Ari Aster, the writer-director behind Beau Is Afraid, Midsommar, and Hereditary.
The reactions from a recent test screening have been positive, with some calling it a hilariously horrifying awards contender. Michael Gondry meets Yorgos Lanthimos with a funny, bonkers performance from Cage where his character confronts cancel culture. His performance has been compared to that of Colin Farrell’s in The Lobster.
