VisionQuest episode 7 just dropped its biggest Avengers callback yet, and fans almost missed it. Here are all the major MCU Easter eggs, comic book references, and hidden details in the show’s penultimate episode.
List of all major easter eggs from VisionQuest
VisionQuest episode 7, titled “Immolation,” delivers several major MCU callbacks and comic book references. The penultimate episode connects Vision’s present journey to key moments across the franchise’s history.
A Weapon From Wakanda’s Vault
Paladin reveals he possesses Corvus Glaive’s glaive at his hideout. Vision was impaled with this weapon at the start of Avengers: Infinity War. The Wakandans had kept the weapon since the events of that film, and Paladin stole it from them.
The Android’s Triple Identity
Paul Bettany plays three characters in this episode. He portrays Vision, inventor Phineas Horton, and Horton’s first AI creation, Jim Hammond. The reveal suggests Horton’s likeness influenced Vision’s appearance.
Hammond’s Fiery Fate Reimagined
The show changes Jim Hammond’s story from Marvel Comics. Hammond caught fire because he found love, which became his downfall. His creator, Phineas Horton, died alongside him in this version.
Horton’s Haunting Words
Phineas Horton tells Vision he will never know the consequence of love. He describes it as “sorrow, pain and valeting out for someone who can no longer hear you.” This echoes Vision’s famous line about grief being love persevering.
Ultron Channels His Inner Puppet Master
Ultron references Pinocchio again, continuing a pattern from earlier episodes. He tells Vision that Horton has “made you a real boy.” This adds to his previous “no strings” quips throughout the series.
A Letter to Tommy
Vision leaves Tommy a heartfelt message about his real past. He gives Tommy WandaVision to watch and references Wanda Maximoff’s iconic line. Wanda said in her series finale that “a family is forever.”
Lisa’s Robotic Arms Return
Lisa manifests robotic arms once again, echoing her transformation in episode 6. Her comic counterpart, Coat of Arms, gains four extra arms through the mystical Coat of Tiboro. The show replaces that magical origin with a technology-driven version.
The Butcher Bird Quotes Poe
Jocasta quotes “The Raven” by Edgar Allan Poe while revealing her nano-bot plan. Marvel Comics once published a mini-series adapting Poe’s works. A HYDRA character also shares the poet’s name in the comics.
A Comic-Accurate Upgrade
Vision suits up in a new costume during the episode. The suit features a comic-accurate collar and significantly more gold detailing than previous versions.
