A Daniel Radcliffe movie about magic is now streaming on Peacock. However, fans expecting to see the actor return to the world of Harry Potter might be in for a surprise.
Now You See Me 2 is streaming on Peacock. The sequel is also referred to as Now You See Me: The Second Act. Daniel Radcliffe joined the cast as the film’s main antagonist. The sequel also added Jay Chou, Sanaa Lathan, and Lizzy Caplan to the cast. Caplan replaced Fisher, who could not reprise her role because she was pregnant during production.
What makes Now You See Me 2 worth watching on Peacock
Now You See Me 2 earned praise for introducing Lizzy Caplan as Lula. While Fisher’s character remains a fan favorite, Lula brought a fresh energy to the sequel. Her comedic timing added to the film’s energy and helped keep its pacing lively.
The sequel also features its memorable microchip scene, a sequence that many fans consider one of the franchise’s highlights. Daniel Radcliffe also earned praise for playing the technologically savvy villain, serving as a foil to the Horsemen and their elaborate illusions.
However, despite featuring several fan-favorite moments, the sequel received a weaker critical response than Now You See Me. Compared with its predecessor’s 51% on Rotten Tomatoes, Now You See Me 2 earned just 33% from critics. The sequel also earned significantly less at the box office, despite having a higher production budget.
Alongside the sequel, its predecessor, Now You See Me, is also available to watch on Peacock. Jon M. Chu helmed the sequel, while Louis Leterrier directed the original. Ed Solomon, who co-wrote the first film with Boaz Yakin and Edward Ricourt, returned to write the sequel’s screenplay.
The original film launched the franchise and starred Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Mélanie Laurent, Isla Fisher, Common, Dave Franco, Michael Caine, and Morgan Freeman.
