Jessica Biel says Matchbox: The Movie turned her into a cool mom at home
In a conversation with E! News, Biel shared that her kids are excited about her Matchbox: The Movie, directed by Sam Hargrave. She also finds it “cool” that she can do her stunts. “I’ve gotta be honest, I’m not like ripping donuts at drop off. But if you asked, maybe I would,” she said.
Biel further added, referring to where this skill could potentially be used, “It’s pretty cool to have the skills. And know in the back pocket maybe I could pull it out for a party trick sometime.” Teyonah Parris further evidenced how she saw her costars facing their fears by doing daring stunts.
“I just have this vivid memory of us standing on the bank by the bridge—by the chain bridge—when John had to run up the side. And we weren’t on camera. We were just there, hanging out, watching as a group of friends to cheer him on because we knew this was a big deal for him,” she added, providing an example of Cena, who showcased courage in dealing with his fear of heights.
The movie centers on spy and former soldier Sean Walker, who, along with his friends, is abducted by a group hunting for a nuclear warhead. The CIA blames Walker and his friends for stealing the weapon, prompting the latter to get it back and prove their innocence. The film is adapted from the toy brand of the same name by Mattel.
The cast features Cena, Kristoffer Hivju, Biel, Sam Richardson, Arturo Castro, Teyonah Parris, Randeep Hooda, Danai Gurira, Corey Stoll, Bill Camp, and Golshifteh Farahani.
