Each season, ABC’s competition show dazzles and delights us with athletes, musicians, actors, and other famous folks displaying their skills on the dance floor.
Dancing With the Stars Season 33 found The Bachelor star Joey Graziadei and professional dancer Jenna Johnson claiming the coveted Mirrorball Trophy.
With new contestants on the way, we’re looking forward to who will appear in the Season 34 cast and might become the latest DWTS champions.
Robert Irwin Could Shine in DWTS Season 34
While DWTS often features lesser-known celebrities, many will know of Robert Irwin, as he’s the son of the late great crocodile hunter, Steve Irwin.
Robert had a shirtless, snaky reveal as GMA’s first official DWTS Season 34 cast announcement in April, and the beloved Australian has followed in his father’s footsteps, pursuing a career as a conservationist, TV presenter, and zookeeper, among other endeavors.
His sister, Bindi Irwin, previously won Dancing With the Stars Season 21, and I think many fans could back heartthrob Robert to make history and snag the sparkly trophy in Season 34, if his dancing skills are up to par.
Alix Earle Could Surprise Fans and Herself With a Win
For those unfamiliar with Alix Earle, she’s a savvy social media influencer with millions of followers across her content, appeared on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, and is a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model.
Good Morning America’s Michael Strahan and Lara Spencer revealed Alix for the Dancing With the Stars Season 34 cast last week, and she spoke about her excitement in joining the show she’s watched since she was younger.
The popular social media star’s enthusiasm extends to challenging herself, and it’s that sort of spirited attitude that often resonates with many of us DWTS fans as we root for her to go further in the competition.
However, she already has a massive built-in fan base, which could become something that those against her feel is an unfair advantage and that they call out online.
What Else Do We Know About the DWTS Season 34 Cast?
Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough will return to their role as the Dancing With the Stars hosts, and Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Brunion Tonioli are back as the trio of judges, which may rile up fans.
GMA revealed Robert Irwin for DWTS in April, and Alix this month, suggesting we might see a third Season 34 cast member reveal in late June, possibly an athlete, reality TV star, or actor, as there are usually a few of those individuals in most seasons.
During Alfonso’s appearance on Good Morning America, he teased a desire to have his former co-star, Will Smith, or GMA’s own Michael Strahan, on Dancing with the Stars.
However, Strahan seemed uninterested, and it would be a major surprise if Smith appeared on the new season.
Something tells me the Men in Black alum would cost more than the show’s entire season budget would allow.
Will has had some controversies in recent years, but it’s hard to imagine him trying his hand at ballroom dancing.
There would be a great deal of buzz if he did, for some reason, join the show, but it seems like one of those things that won’t happen.
While ABC hasn’t revealed the Dancing With the Stars Season 34 premiere date yet, it’s likely to happen in September, as last year’s Season 33 premiered on September 17.
