Keith Urban Breaks Silence On ‘Challenging’ Split
Nicole Kidman isn’t the only one with a busy career. Keith Urban released his 13th studio album earlier this year, and it was very different from what fans are used to hearing from him. The singer, known for his country hits, released an album of Soft Rock and Yacht Rock covers. TheFlow State tracklist included Seals and Crofts hit “Summer Breeze,” Bread’s “Guitar Man” featuring John Mayer, and “Baby Come Back” by Player.
The album came out in June. He gave a candid interview to theAssociated Press around that time detailing how “challenging” it was to make the album amid personal drama. He called the tracklist an “unexpected group of songs and a very unexpected record to find me when it found me, because it was very much a 180 of what was going on at the time.”
“It was a challenging record to make at the same time, for something that kind of sounds so effortless,” he added without directly referencing his split from Nicole Kidman or rumored estrangement from their daughters. The former couple appears to be on good terms despite the divorce. He wished her a happy birthday earlier this year and she honored him with a Father’s Day post.
