“There is no such thing as death.” Creepy! Vertical has unveiled the new official trailer for the indie horror film titled Pendulum, creeping its way into theaters in January 2027. An even scarier trailer than the first teaser! Pendulum is produced by filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, because it’s the feature directorial debut of screenwriter Mark Heyman – who (co-)wrote the script for Black Swan which got him a BAFTA nom. After a traumatic event a couple journeys to a retreat in New Mexico seeking healing. Patrick grows skeptical of the retreat’s leader as Abigail falls under her influence. They start to wonder if the group’s practices offer genuine healing –or conceal a terrifying truth that threatens to consume them both. I’m pretty sure it’s the latter. The horror film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt & Phoebe Dynevor, along with Norman Reedus & Jacki Weaver. Heyman also states: “Pendulum is a deeply personal film, inspired by real, and really scary, experiences.” This looks like an insane supernatural cult thriller with some very dark and eerie twists in it after the hypnotizing starts. Stay away from this cult! No way! Tread carefully viewing the new trailer below.

Married couple Patrick (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) & Abigail (Phoebe Dynevor) journey to a new-age retreat in New Mexico, drawn by the possibility of healing after a traumatic event. Patrick will do anything to help his wife, but becomes distrustful of the retreat’s enigmatic leader (Jacki Weaver) even as Abigail falls under her spell. As paranoia begins to build, the couple must determine if the group’s spiritual practices offer genuine healing – or mask a terrifying truth that threatens to consume them both. Pendulum is both written and directed by American writer / filmmaker Mark Heyman, making his feature directorial debut after one short + ep of the “Strange Angel” series; he also wrote screenplays for Black Swan, The Skeleton Twins, and The Boogeyman previously. Produced by Darren Aronofsky, Dave Caplan, Elizabeth Gesas, Will Greenfield, Ari Handel, Mark Heyman, Élan Klein Jaffke, Jacob Jaffke. Vertical debuts Heyman’s Pendulum horror film in select US theaters starting on January 1st, 2027 just after the New Year arrives. Intrigued?
