Doctor Doom seems to have been lovestruck right ahead of Avengers: Doomsday. Sharing some unique Doctor Doom art, Robert Downey Jr. had a special message for his better half.
Downey Jr. was spotted sharing a heartwarming post for his wife, Susan Downey. The Iron Man actor’s wife turned 53 on Friday, November 6, 2026. To celebrate the occasion, the 61-year-old star took to his Instagram to share three pictures of the duo. Calling his wife his “leading lady,” Downey Jr. captioned the post, “HBD to my leading lady, hand in hand, now n 4 ever.” Robert and Susan married in 2005 and have been together since.
Interestingly, both Robert and Susan could be spotted wearing cool Doctor Doom-inspired outfits. The Oppenheimer actor wore a black crew-neck tee that had graphics based on Doctor Doom on the chest. He paired it with a black jacket, which had green inscriptions. Likewise, Susan also wore a yellow round-neck, short-sleeve T-shirt, sporting a Doctor Doom graphic. The backside of Downey Jr.’s jacket also had a green illustration of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s next big bad.

Downey Jr. met his beloved wife Susan back in 2003. He was featured in the movie Gothika as Dr. Pete Graham alongside Halle Berry’s Dr. Miranda Grey. Susan Downey worked as a producer for the project. They dated each other for a short span of time before getting engaged on November 5, 2003, and then tied the knot 2 years later.
Robert Downey Jr. and Susan are parents to two children together. They had their son, Exton Elias Downey, on February 7, 2012. Exton is currently 14. On November 4, 2014, they welcomed their daughter, Avri Roel Downey, who is currently 12 years old. The Sherlock Holmes actor is also the father of his eldest son, Indio Falconer Downey, whom he had during his marriage to Deborah Falconer.
When winning the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for playing Lewis Strauss in Oppenheimer, the 61-year-old actor said, “I’d like to thank my veterinarian — I meant wife — Susan Downey over there. She found me, a snarling rescue pet, and loved me back to life. That’s why I am here. Thank you.” He even shared how his wife helped him prepare for the Oscars as he was getting anxious.
