Cooper Hoffman on if he’s playing Cyclops in Marvel’s X-Men reboot
During his recent appearance on the red carpet for his new movie I Want Your Sex, Cooper Hoffman stated that he has not been cast as Cyclops in the X-Men reboot.
“Oh, not gonna be me, but I love the X-Men,” said Hoffman in his discussion with Entertainment Tonight. “Not for any reason, it’s just not…I don’t know where this came from. S*** spreads!”
When asked if he would be interested in pursuing the opportunity if fans wanted it to happen, the 23-year-old actor replied, “Of course, yeah. They don’t, but I wish they did. I wish they had more of a say. I love X-Men. I’ve been watching since I was a kid. It would be such an honor.”
So far, Marvel Studios has not shared any official details regarding the cast of the highly anticipated X-Men reboot. While Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier is slated to helm the project from a script by writer Michael Lesslie, no other information about the reboot’s creative team has been released as of yet.
Some of the most recent speculation about the movie has linked Star Wars actor Adam Driver to the role of Mister Sinister. Meanwhile, The Conjuring’s Patrick Wilson is being touted to succeed James McAvoy and Sir Patrick Stewart as Professor X. Additionally, Obsession lead Inde Navarrette and Marty Supreme’s Odessa A’zion have been rumored to have been in the running for the part of Rogue.
However, Marvel has yet to confirm any casting rumors regarding the X-Men reboot.
