Richard Brake (Barbarian, 31) is joining the next round of alligator carnage in Alexandre Aja’s Crawl sequel.
The Hollywood Reporter broke the casting news, revealing that Brake has boarded the Paramount Pictures film alongside Sarah Niles (F1), Ray Panthaki (28 Days Later), Charley Palmer Rothwell (Play or Die), and Flula Borg (The Suicide Squad).
They join previously announced leads Mason Gooding (Scream, Heart Eyes) and Emily Rudd (Fear Street Part Two: 1978).
The sequel, which has yet to receive an official title, arrives in theaters July 16, 2027.
Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, Piranha 3D) returns to direct, sharing screenplay credit with Jason Harry Pagan, Andrew Deutschman, and Gregory Levasseur.
The original Crawl trapped Kaya Scodelario (Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City) and Barry Pepper (The Green Mile) in a Florida home during a hurricane, with rising floodwaters bringing some very unwelcome alligators inside. Released in 2019, the film earned more than $91 million worldwide.
Craig Flores, Sam Raimi, and Aja produce the follow-up, with Levasseur, Kevan Van Thompson, and Zainab Azizi serving as executive producers.
