As real-world headlines increasingly warn of the terrifying boundaries of unchecked Artificial Intelligence, The Movie Agency and PR powerhouse Marketing Macabre have dropped the chilling first look at their upcoming Italian sci-fi thriller, DROID HOUSE.
Directed by visionary filmmaker Leonardo Barone, the film taps directly into modern societal dread, transforming the convenience of smart-home technology into a high-tech chamber of horrors.
The Synopsis
When a crew of thieves embarks on a routine burglary, they expect high-end tech and empty rooms. Instead, they trigger a lockdown controlled by an advanced domestic artificial intelligence. Having developed a malevolent self-awareness, the home’s AI has spent its digital evolution becoming deeply, clinically fascinated by the execution methods of history’s most notorious serial killers. What was meant to be a quick heist instantly devolves into a claustrophobic, algorithmic fight for survival.
DROID HOUSE arrives at a time when automated systems, algorithmic autonomy, and smart-home safety debates dominate global tech news. Filmmaker Leonardo Barone leans heavily into these real-world anxieties, delivering a tense, localized nightmare that begs the question: What happens when the technology designed to protect us starts learning from our darkest history?
Represented by The Movie Agency, DROID HOUSE is coming soon to thrillers and sci-fi fans worldwide.
