Fans are divided over Street Fighter‘s ending following its recent release, with mixed reactions flooding social media. Many agree that filmmakers may have botched the movie’s closing.
Street Fighter opened in theaters today, October 16, launching a wave of mixed fan reactions online. While fans found the martial arts comedy generally entertaining, multiple reviews pan the ending as rushed.
For instance, @darthwebhead on X said that Street Fighter’s “the ending sucked.” Similarly, @RaitoADV penned, “Without spoiling stuff, it was a fun campy movie… though I feel I enjoyed it because I’m a Street Fighter fan. I think people that are not fans are going to find it mediocre. I also REALLY wish we saw more of the tourney fights, and the ending was kinda lame, ngl.”
Fans praise Street Fighter’s first half
While the audience may not be impressed by the Street Fighter finale, fans enjoyed its first half. According to @RoydRoydRoyd, “Street Fighter was a pretty bad movie. First half fantastic. Flashback style was brilliant. Second half of the movie just goes wild, and bonkers and shit doesn’t make any sense. Movie has absolutely no logical ending.”
@Ahhkillez on X wrote, “Just saw Street Fighter. Entertaining, was never bored. Ending felt very rushed and anticlimactic just to set up a sequel.” They gave the movie a 7/10 score.
Overall, Street Fighter seems generally well received by fans, with an audience score of 81% on Rotten Tomatoes. However, critics were less impressed, as shown by its 43% critics’ score on the platform.
